Today, the latest techniques can do wonders for making teeth healthy and beautiful.  Achieving your best and brightest smile is quick and easy.

If you’re self-conscious about your smile or unhappy with the appearance of your teeth, ask us if you are a candidate for cosmetic dentistry.  An enhanced smile will not only make you look good on the outside, but it will also make you feel better on the inside.

As one of the few LVI-trained dentists in the area, Dr. Herrman takes into account your unique concerns and desires to create the perfect smile for you!

Here is what cosmetic dentistry can do for you:

  • Close gaps between teeth
  • Repair chipped, broken or worn teeth
  • Reposition crowded teeth
  • Recontour gums to eliminate a “gummy” smile
  • Lengthen or shorten uneven teeth
  • Replace a missing tooth or teeth
  • Replace old metal fillings
  • Whiten discolored or stained teeth
  • Make you look younger!

Straightening

Dr. Herrman uses the Invisalign® system, a series of clear, removeable aligners, to move teeth over time to give you the smile you deserve. Invisalign is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces.

  • Clear
  • Removeable
  • Allows you to brush and floss normally
  • Prevent gum disease
  • Comfortable without the wires and brackets that could irritate your mouth
  • Fewer visits to the dental office
  • Typically faster results than wires and brackets

Neuromuscular Dentistry - Relieving Jaw Pain

Traditional Dentistry is based on mechanical concepts that assume that your present bite is best for you.  Such dentistry does not recognize the important role that muscles and joints play in dentistry.  The science of Neuromuscular Dentistry evaluates and treats your overall oral health by considering how your muscles, teeth and joints all work together.

Musculoskeletal Dysfunction Signs and Symptoms include:

    • Headaches
    • Jaw joint Pain
    • Jaw joint noise or clicking
    • Limited mouth opening
    • Ear congestion
    • Dizziness
    • Ringing in the ears
    • Difficulty swallowing
    • Loose Teeth
    • Clenching or grinding
    • Facial Pain
    • Sensitive teeth
    • Chewing difficulties
    • Neck pain
    • Postural problems
    • Tingling of the fingertips
    • Hot & cold sensitivity of teeth
    • Nervousness or insomnia

We utilize a jaw-tracking computer system called the "K-7" to evaluate the muscle activity of the jaws and to determine the most physiologically correct position for the jaw. We can then place a diagnostic appliance followed later by porcelain restorations in this position. This creates the most comfortable, longest-lasting restorations possible.

    Teeth Whitening

Many of us feel that our smiles are most striking when our teeth look especially white, but unfortunately, soft drinks, coffee, tea, and tobacco can leave behind ugly stains. To help you restore your gleaming, bright white smile and to give you an added boost of confidence, we offer many options, such as in-office bleaching.  This Power Whitening System brightens teeth with only one visit and can be completed in 1 hour.

    Veneers or All-Porcelain Crowns

If you have healthy teeth and gums, but you’re not satisfied with the way your smile looks, veneers or crowns may be your answer.

All-porcelain veneers and crowns can brighten front teeth that have permanent stains or discoloration that can’t be whitened.  They may be used to correct small gaps between the front teeth, or to fix teeth that are poorly shaped or slightly crooked.  Veneers or crowns may also be recommended to cover teeth that are chipped, worn or eroded at the gumline from aggressive brushing.

    Bridges

Missing teeth can cause the mouth to sag and the face to look older.  If you’re missing teeth, it may be fixed with a bridge or removable partial denture.  A bridge spans the space where one or more teeth are missing.  A bridge helps maintain the natural shape of your face and provides support for your lips and cheeks. Many times we incorporate these as part of our cosmetic dental makeovers.

    Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implants are fast becoming one of the most popular methods of replacing missing teeth. We work in conjunction with all our area surgeons to build beautiful, natural-looking teeth upon the integrated implants. As few as one or as many as the entire mouth can be restored with dental implants.

Implants replace the root of the tooth--the part of the tooth below the gums which anchor it into the bone. After the surgeon places the cylinder and it is healed, we build the new tooth upon this “root replacement”. These teeth function comfortably and look great!

    Bonding

For our younger patients, bonding is sometimes a great alternative. When braces are finished, but teeth are small, many times the gaps can be filled with "bonding" (white resin). This usually lasts 2-5 years and provides a great conservative cosmetic treatment.

    White Fillings

Our office utilizes only metal-free composite (white resin) fillings for conservative treatment of decay or to replace old, worn-out metal fillings. Informed patients now demand the best materials possible, to include avoiding metal. These restorations have a life of 5-10 years, and they blend beautifully with surrounding tooth structure.
